Web CSS integration
Web CSS is the stable v1 implementation: DTCG tokens, CSS, opt-in JavaScript runtimes, and consumable contracts without requiring a specific framework.
When to choose Web CSS
Section titled “When to choose Web CSS”- the application can import CSS and, when needed, opt-in JavaScript;
- the team wants to compose components with native HTML or its chosen stack;
- the project needs the stable line while official adapters evolve;
- interoperability and low framework coupling are requirements.
Coverage
Section titled “Coverage”- Foundation, Semantic, and Component tokens;
- light/dark themes and white-label engine;
- the current component catalog with documented availability;
- opt-in runtimes for App-ready interactive patterns;
- HTML/Vite Storybook and the static v1 documentation.
Components and references
Section titled “Components and references”Evolution
Section titled “Evolution”vNext does not remove this line. Tokens, theme, and knowledge remain neutral; framework adapters add ergonomics and behavior without replacing the web contract when it is the best fit.
